Temporary truck routes through residential areas is concerning many locals.
MARQUETTE -- The designated truck route through the City of Marquette was once again the focus of the City Commission Friday morning.
Commissioners held a special work session to discuss possible solutions for the current temporary route.
Until the city's plan to extend McClellan Avenue from Fair Avenue to Wright Street is complete, trucks run through some residential streets and residents are concerned with the amount of noise.
Some possible solutions brought up included rotating weeks for truck traffic on certain streets and charging trailer fees.
"Although they're creative solutions, I just see enforcement issues. How do we enforce that?" were some of the concerns Commissioner John Kivela had.
No final decisions were made.
The Commissioners say they're looking into meeting with State Representatives on the issue.
