Absentee ballots are available until Monday afternoon.
MARQUETTE -- Election Day will be something of an afterthought for some tens of millions of Americans. And that's because they voted well ahead of time.
The Marquette City Clerk's Office has issued more than 2,100 absentee ballots, a record number.
The City Clerk's Office was open Saturday, allowing absent voters to cast their absentee ballot early.
"It was vitally important. I want my vote registered; I absolutely feel that it is our civic duty to make a decision in this year's election. It's absolutely vital," is what absentee voter Deb Morely had to say.
Voters not able to cast their ballots on Election Day have until 4 p.m. Monday to vote absentee, but must complete their ballot in the office.
And just as a reminder, voters should be prepared to present a photo ID. However, if you don't have one, you will not be turned away, but will be asked to sign an affidavit.
