MARQUETTE -- A Marquette man charged with assaulting a police officer waived his preliminary hearing Thursday.

Robert Jurasin was arrested on Oct. 9 on outstanding warrants.

According to Marquette City Police, when two officers arrived at Jurasin's house to arrest him, Jurasin wrestled one of the officers to the ground and attempted to escape before the other officer tasered him.

If convicted, Jurasin faces up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
