His conviction for killing Francine Malindzak was overturned.
FLORENCE, WISCONSIN -- The man who was convicted of killing Marquette ski instructor Francine Malindzak four years ago had his bond set at $25,000 Thursday.
Forty-five-year-old Kevin Kirsch was found guilty of first degree reckless homicide in 2005 for the 2004 stabbing death of Malindzak, but the conviction was overturned earlier this year.
It was ruled that during the trial, the jury was given incorrect instructtions.
Thursday's hearing was held in the Florence County Jail where Kirsch is currently lodged. The hearing was closed to the media.
A motion hearing for Kirsch has been set for February 27, and a new trial has been scheduled for May 18.
