Downwind Sports held their on-snow demo on Saturday in Marquette Township, and they will be in Houghton on Sunday

MARQUETTE TWP. -- Many traveled to the Noquemanon Trail Head in Forestville in Marquette Township Saturday for a taste of some new winter sports. Downwind Sports held their second annual on-snow demo to try and introduce people to new winter sports.

For a five dollar donation to the Noquemanon Trail Network, visitors could try out all of the equipment on display. First-timers took to the trails on skis or snowshoes.

Others brought their dogs for some skijoring, and some, like 25-year-old Lisa LaBar of Marquette, took their first snowbike ride.

"I just thought, wow, this is really fun! I would like to do this more often and enjoy my bike in the winter," said LaBar.

Downwind Sports will hold another demo on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Michigan Tech Trails in Houghton.
