HOUGHTON -- A photography studio in downtown Houghton offered family portraits on Friday to help raise money for Mchalie Walter and Ana Olsson's families.

Mchalie was diagnosed with leukemia, and Ana was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor. Brockway Photography gave an 8" x 10" black and white portrait to people who donated money to the two families.

Mike Galetto, owner of Brockway, says the turnout for the fundraiser was unexpected.

"We've had people come in and say, 'I don't want our picture taken, but here's some money for them.' It always seems like when you're up here in the Copper Country, families just pull together and help each other out, so that's really nice to see."

All the money raised will be evenly split between both the Walter and Olsson families.
