ESCANABA -- The U.P. State Fairgrounds were busy in Escanaba on Saturday. It was the 36th Annual Christmas in the Village event.

The U.P. Steam and Gas Association puts this event on year after year. It's a place for people to experience an old country style Christmas.

There's lots of little shops, each one selling something different and unique. People also enjoyed the horse carriage rides and a chance to visit with Santa.

"I just think the country atmosphere and the just old time Christmas feeling gets you in the Christmas spirit. I also liked Santa, I liked the wolves that are gutted that are laying on the shelves, and Santa," said Kathy Zote, visitor.

Christmas in the Village ended at 7 p.m.

The funds raised will go to maintaining the facility and getting a chapel.
