HOUGHTON -- Houghton Elementary Students love to read, and they're showing their love of books with an annual book fair.

Students are given the opportunity to visit the book fair during class time. The book fair is put on by the Parent Teacher Organization, and they say it's important for students to have an interest in reading.

"The book fair obviously is an opportunity for the PTO to be involved with some community outreach where students are seeing not only themselves come through here but also parents and teachers as well," said Principal Patrick Aldrich.

"I like it because there are good books, and it's interesting to read," added fifth grader Nick Laux.

Most of the money raised goes right back into the school, and the PTO also buys books from the fair for the school library.

The book fair ends Friday.
