IRON RIVER -- The Sons of American Legion Riders held its first-ever poker run in Iron River Saturday.

All participants began at the Stambaugh Legion Post and drive to five other legions listed. At the end of the ride, they will draw cards and the highest poker hand wins a prize.

All proceeds will go to help homeless veterans.

"(There are) 100 (thousand) to 200,000 homeless veterans in our country right now that have to ask, where do I sleep tonight, so we can't think of a better cause as veterans ourselves to support and raise money for," said Julie Becker, an organizer for Poker Run.

All street legal vehicles are welcome. It is $30 a person or $40 a couple.

Tickets come with dinner and a free drink, but you must be at least 21.
