WETMORE -- The fifth annual U.P Overland trip wrapped up Sunday in Wetmore.

If you're not familiar, the four-day excursion attracts campers who come from as far as Pittsburgh and Kentucky. The trip usually covers more than 500 miles of the U.P. from Whitefish Point, to Grand Marais, the Garden Peninsula and Munising.

For one Norton Shores visitor, one thing in particular will always stand out.

"Today we're driving down the highway, we're in Christmas, and I've been through Christmas a dozen times, and next thing you know we take a ride off the highway and end up on some cliffs on Lake Superior that I never even knew were there," said Joe Chmelar, a returning camper.

A total of 55 people with off-road vehicles participated this year. The trip is sponsored by Roam, Inc. and Roam Automotive. To learn more about U.P. Overland, visit their Facebook page.
