The Wild Rover Irish Pub in Marquette was packed with crowds all St. Patrick's Day weekend
MARQUETTE -- Large crowds celebrated St. Patrick's Day at the Wild Rover in downtown Marquette.
Wild Rover management says the bar has been packed since Friday. They opened Sunday morning at 7 a.m. and have had lines all day. The Rover featured some authentic Irish music and dancing for guests. Several hundred people wanting to celebrate with Irish food and drinks came through the doors. Guinness beer and Bailey's Irish Cream were the hot sellers, along with green-colored beers. Many associate the holiday with alcohol, but some say that it's all about good times with family and friends.
"It is very much a family thing. It's not just drinking at all. It's about getting together, enjoying your family, and your previous life," said James Kee.
"I love St. Paddy's Day because everyone is a family today. It doesn't matter what you look like or what color you are, everybody gets drunk on St. Paddy's Day," said Amanda Eynatten.
"I realized it's about this--it's about family, being with your friends, just having a good time," said Erik Peterson.
"I love it. People are so nice. We meet people, we have fun," said Samantha Demaree.
