ESCANABA -- A 31-year-old Escanaba man accused of assaulting a Bark River man last December learned more about his possible sentence if he accepts a plea agreement.

Jeffrey William Dickerson is charged with assault with intent to rob while armed.

The sentence could be anywhere from six to fifteen years in prison. He was also charged with resisting and obstructing a police officer.

Dickerson allegedly hit the victim over the head with a glass bottle to obtain illegal drugs. He was arrested after a brief foot chase when he ran from police following a traffic stop.

Dickerson will be back in court on April 9 where he's expected to enter a plea.
