MARQUETTE -- NMU students were welcomed back from spring break with a Pig-Stock food party at the Market Place on campus in Marquette.
The cooking team specially made breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Each meal has pork in it. NMU Dining Services purchased 12 pigs, four of which were from the 4-H Club.
"The students are having fun trying some new things, and with a little encouragement, they are trying some new things, which is great 'cause it's such a nice opportunity in college to try some new foods and experience a variety in your dining," said event organizer, Stephanie Raboin.
They served students from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. They expected to see at least 3,000 people.
