TROUT LAKE -- A fatal snowmobile crash in Trout Lake over the weekend is being investigated by the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department.

According to deputies, 48-year-old Terri F. Tarzwell Klee of Deckerville was driving her snowmobile when she lost control on a curve and ran into a tree.  Klee was ejected from the machine and was unconscious at the scene.  She was transported to War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie where she died from her injuries.

Deputies said that just prior to the accident, her nine-year-old daughter was riding with her, but they had stopped for the child to switch sleds and ride with her father.

Initial reports indicate that neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in the accident.

Assisting the sheriff's department at the scene were Department of Natural Resources and Trout Lake Fire and Ambulance.
