Northern Michigan University hockey loses top scorer

MARQUETTE -- The Northern Michigan University Wildcat hockey team has lost its top scorer due to injury, according to CollegeHockeyNews.com.

The site reports that Matt Thurber broke his leg during practice on Tuesday and will miss the remainder of the season. Thurber leads the Wildcats with 32 points which includes 6 goals.

NMU is set to begin the CCHA playoffs this weekend against the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
