MARQUETTE -- The Marquette Regional History Center is celebrating some history of its own as they turned 95 years old. The History Center started when a group of residents from Marquette and the surrounding towns decided to start preserving items for the future.

Their first building was located along Front Street in Marquette. Through the years they've amassed more than 10,000 photos and other artifacts that preserve the past, and they're still looking.

"We want people to think about items that they would see as having a tie to the area and that maybe they don't have the space in their attic, basement or garage. Here they could bring it, have a safe place for it to be used into the future," said Chris Osier, Assistant Director of the Marquette Regional History Center.

The History Center hosts a number of activities and events throughout the year. For more information on the History Center, click here.
