MARQUETTE -- If you're looking for something to brighten up your home, why not get some tulips?

Local flower shop, Garden Bouquet and Design, 130 W. Baraga Ave. in downtown Marquette, is selling them by the bunch for a good cause.

The purpose of the fundraiser is to raise enough money for the Marquette Senior High School Orchestra and Choir students to travel by bus from Marquette to Chicago, where they will catch a flight to Ireland.

This trip is an annual trip to Europe the musical students take for educational purposes.

Flower shop owner Kim Smith was a chaperone for the trip when her daughter went two years ago.

"I saw how valuable that trip was for the students' growth and development, and also in terms of international relations and the students being a bridge between the countries and fostering good relations," said Smith.

At Garden Bouquet and Design, ten-stem bunches of tulips will be sold at a discounted price of $10. Five dollars from each bunch sold will be donated to the students' bus fee.

Smith's goal is to sell 100 bunches.
