MARQUETTE -- Have you ever seen those strongman competitions?

AdvantEdge in Marquette will host their first strongman competition Saturday at their facility on Baraga Avenue.

During the competition you'll see men and women competing in five events with different weight classes.  You'll see them test their strength at flipping tires, log pressing, and dragging chains.

It's an opportunity for local athletes to show off their muscles.

"I have people weighing from 160 pounds all the way up to 240 pounds; I have ladies in the 20s all the way into the mid-40s.  Experience levels from beginners to people who have done contests all over that have qualified for nationals," said organizer, Dana Skytta.

So far 23 people from across the U.P. will be competing.  The competition is open to the public.  It starts at 1 p.m. and should last until 6 p.m. Admission is free. For more information click here.
