MARQUETTE -- If you're like most prospective college students, you will need some help paying for your higher education.

But sometimes all that paperwork can be a bit overwhelming.

The Michigan College Goal event is here to help with the abundance of forms.

"If you're going to be going to college in this next coming year, now is the time to fill out the FAFSA. Come on down and we can help you fill it out," said Benjamin Platt, Volunteer Coordinator for the Michigan College Goal.

The event will be held this Sunday at the YMCA of Marquette from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Sawyer Elementary School in Gwinn from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. as well.

It is free to attend.

Parents, students, and anyone that may need help with the FAFSA is welcome.

Trained volunteers will be available to everyone in attendance and can help out with the forms, and answer any questions you may have.

Bring important documents such as your social security card, driver's license, tax forms, and bank statements.

Even if you don't have all of the paperwork you will need, it is still advisable to come.
