IRON MOUNTAIN -- An Iron Mountain man appeared in Dickinson County Circuit Court Monday on a charge of placing harmful objects in food.

Twenty-three-year-old Dalton Ursulean is charged with spitting in a sandwich, a charge which carries up to a 10-year sentence.

He allegedly spit in a sandwich which was ordered by a veteran's hospital officer.  Ursulean is also charged with being a habitual offender, fourth offense.

While the maximum sentence for his charge of spitting in food is 10 years, the maximum for his being a habitual offender is life.

Ursulean pled not guilty to both charges and is scheduled for a pretrial conference on February 21.
