MARQUETTE -- A Gwinn woman has been charged with embezzlement from a charity organization.
Angie Spaulding is accused of taking between $1,000 and $20,000 from the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Marquette.
According to the Marquette City Police, the alleged embezzlement happened over a period of time in 2011. Spaulding was an accountant at St. Vincent de Paul. She allegedly used St. Vincent de Paul's credit card to make personal purchases for approximately over $10,000
She is charged with embezzlement along with using a financial device, like a credit card, without consent. Spaulding is free on bond.
The penalty for embezzling from a charity organization is more serious, double the normal prison time. If convicted, Spaulding could get 10 years behind bars and/or a $15,000 fine.
She'll be back in court January 25.
