Latest news, weather, high school sports for Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

MARQUETTE -- The shipping season on the Great Lakes wrapped up Tuesday.
    
The Soo Locks shut down at midnight Tuesday night for a little more than two months.  At the LS&I ore dock in Marquette's upper harbor, the final ship of the season sailed out Tuesday morning.
    
The "Manitowoc" arrived Monday afternoon and left Tuesday.
    
The shipping season on the Great Lakes, depending on weather, should start again in mid March.
