Police investigate possible inmate homicide

MARENISCO -- An Ojibway Correction Facility inmate is dead after suffering injuries from a beating in the prison's TV room, according to authorities.

Randolph Connor, 26, died from a brain herniation, according to officials. He was taken to Marquette General Hospital on Friday after being punched and kicked several times by two inmates, police report. He later died at MGH on Saturday.

Authorities said that they have a couple of prisoners in custody regarding the incident. The prisoners have been moved to a higher security facility.

The Ojibway Correctional Facility is a Level 1 minimum security institution.

Connor was serving sentences regarding safe breaking, larceny, and home invasion.
