IRON MOUNTAIN -- The recent extension of the U.S. Farm Bill means milk prices should stay fairly consistent.

But the overall consumption of milk seems to have some scratching their heads.

An article in Forbes magazine says milk consumption has dropped 36 percent since 1970.

In the past year alone dairy products decreased three percent since 2011.

Though milk is a healthy option, the rise of sugared drinks and non-dairy products may be one answer for this gradual drop.

Dairy manufacturers are trying to win back milk consumers by making healthier products and appealing packaging.
