HOUGHTON -- Portage Health in Hancock is holding a Men's Health Day this weekend.

The event is all about men's health issues and how men should be taking care of themselves. The event is for men only.

There will be free cholesterol screenings provided among other services. Event organizer Angela Luskin says the event has been popular in the past.  She says it's important for men to be aware of many different aspects of their health.

"It's important to know your cholesterol, it's important to know your blood pressure, and the men's health tune-up allows people to get a little snapshot of their health on an annual basis, and I think that's important," said Luskin.

The event will be this Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Hancock High School. The cost of the event is $25 and it covers breakfast, screenings, seminars and lunch. You can register online at www.portagehealth.org/menshealth. You need to fast for 12 hours prior to blood being drawn.

Call Portage Health if you have more questions at (906) 483-1153.
