NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP -- An 18-year-old Gladstone man is in jail after leading Wisconsin officials on a high-speed chase on Sunday.

According to officials, Ray Gidean-John Potter, 18, led deputies in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin on a chase after noticing the squad car was a Crown Victoria, not a Dodge Charger.

The chase was initiated at around 7:30 p.m. when a deputy with the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department received a call regarding a possibly stolen blue Ford Mustang with Illinois registration plates. According to authorities, the vehicle slowed down but did not stop once pursuing units turned on emergency lights.

The chase reached speeds of 120 miles an hour at times and involved tires on the Mustang being spiked several times by law enforcement.

According to court documents, Potter decided to see if he could outrun the deputy when he noticed the type of patrol car he was driving. He also told officials that he continued the chase just to see how far he could make it.
