MARQUETTE -- Dozens of singers came to the Peter White Public Library in Marquette Sunday. It was the inaugural Big Water Community Sing for Marquette.

The sing along allowed people to sing all kinds of traditional and folk music. "Rise Up Singing" song books were provided for everyone.

The event, lead by song leader Corinne Rockow, lets anyone and everyone sing together in a casual environment, away from the stress of a performance or concert venue.

"I hope people feel welcome to come in and sing in a very relaxed, casual atmosphere, make harmony with others," said Rockow, song leader.

The Big Water Community Sing will become a monthly event at the library.

The next one is scheduled for February 24 at 3:30 p.m.
