LANSING (AP) -- Gov. Rick Snyder has appointed two members to the Michigan Natural Resources Commission.

Snyder on Friday named Louise Klarr, of Bloomfield, and reappointed Tim Nichols, of Cadillac, to the seven-member panel.

Klarr is a Republican and Nichols is a Democrat. No more than four members may be from the same party. Their four-year appointments are subject to approval by the state Senate.

The commission sets policies on conserving and managing Michigan's natural and cultural resources such as forests, wildlife and state parks.

Klarr manages a 400-acre forest and lowland area for deer and turkey and owns a small amount of acreage for rotational crops. She replaces Frank Wheatlake.

Nichols is managing partner of Labor-Management Fund Advisors LLC, where he oversees the firm's marketing and business development.
