Apartment fire on Michigan Tech campus

HOUGHTON -- Crews at Michigan Tech University responded to an on-campus apartment fire on Friday.

According to MTU officials the fire happened at Daniels Heights apartments on campus at around 11:30 a.m. There were no injuries during the fire, which was started when a piece of insulation caught fire in the wall during maintenance and remodeling, according to officials.

We will provide more information on the apartment fire as it becomes available. The Daniels Heights apartment was under renovation.
