Donations to YMCA on Monday can double your contribution

MARQUETTE -- Are you looking for a way to make a difference with a donation, plus get a tax deduction for 2012? If you are, Match Day at the YMCA is the way to go.

All day Monday, you can make a donation, and the Youth Advisory Council will match your contribution to the Marquette County Community Foundation for the YMCA. They match is dollar for dollar up to $1,000. The money goes to the Y's endowment fund for kids and family programs.

This is the fifth year for the event. Their goal again this year is $2,000.

Kathryn Buhrmann, President of the Youth Advisory Council, says each year people have been more than generous. She says, "Last year alone we almost doubled what we were expecting to gain from the community. Normally we have the same people donate."

Match Day is just Monday, December 31. You can donate at the 'Y' in person or on-line until midnight Monday night.
