MARQUETTE -- The Marquette County Board agreed to labor contracts with five bargaining units representing county employees on Friday.
In a special meeting the board discussed the contracts during a closed session. The units include county health department employees, central dispatch employees and workers at Sawyer International Airport.
During the closed session they also discussed Public Act 152, which deals with a split of health insurance costs with public workers.
"Marquette County considered going with a co-share of approximately 20 percent towards the health insurance, however Friday they waived that and are going forward with a six percent match of the 2012 premium rates for Marquette County employees," said Marquette County Admin. Scott Erbisch.
The contracts will now need to go before each bargaining unit for final consideration. There are still three units that need to have their contracts agreed upon.
