QUINNESEC -- Almost Home Animal Shelter staff says they finally have a little more room to breathe.

The shelter, just a month ago, had over 100 cats, 75 of them being kittens. Since then, shelter staff says they received a high flow of adoptions and are now at a record number for their in-house cat population.

“I’ve worked here for the majority of the last six years and it’s probably the lowest amount of cats we've had,” explains shelter employee Mackenzie Provost. “There are 27 left and normally the cages are full.”

The shelter says thanks to the community and rise in adoptions, they can use less resources and spend more on extra cleaning throughout the facility.
