IRON MOUNTAIN -- YMCA Northern Lights in Iron Mountain will be working hard over this holiday period, expanding from the inside out.

The MSU Extension Service moved its office which was on the second floor in the YMCA building.  Staff say they're excited to remodel the space and use it for exercise classes and also a viewing area for swim meets.

"The members are excited to get the space and it frees up the gym during the busy hours. Now we can have our program classes up here during our busy time from like 4 to 7 and the people are still going to be able to utilize the gym," said Y Maintenance Coordinator, Steve Branz.

The reconstruction is estimated to be complete by January 7.  Northern Lights says the entire project is estimated to cost about $7,000.
