MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP -- Three people were sent to the hospital Wednesday after the crash, which happened just after 4 p.m. on US-41 near Lowe's.

The Michigan State Police say a pickup truck driven by 80-year-old Richard Sorensen of Little Lake failed to yield to oncoming traffic while leaving Lowe's.

His vehicle was struck by a westbound van driven by 17-year-old Kylee Bresette of Marquette.  The Bressette vehicle then crossed into the eastbound lane and struck another pickup truck head-on, driven by Timothy Frisk of Champion.

Sorensen's wife, Bresette, and Bresette's passenger, 14-year-old Hallie Juchemich of  Marquette, were transported to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Sorensen was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

Michigan State Police were assisted on scene by the Marquette City Police Department and the Marquette Township Fire Department, Medi-Ride and MGH Ambulance.
