AU TRAIN -- One local singer has her sights set on the bright lights of the Windy City...she's trying out for America's Got Talent. Alexis Matson has been singing and playing guitar for the past few years. Matson has been performing at local events around the Munising area. Now the 14 year old plans to go to Chicago for auditions for America's Got Talent.

"They usually tell me that I'm really talented for my age, and then I remember a couple of people actually told me that they wanted me to audition for America's Got Talent last year," said Alexis Matson. "A couple of my friends, she was auditioning and so then I was like, dad, if she auditioned, then I can audition, too."

Matson will be going to Chicago for auditions on January 26 and 27. The Matson family is looking for donations to help them pay for travel costs. Alexis will also be performing at Sydney's in Munising on January 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. and at Foggy's in Christmas on January 12 from 7 to 9 p.m.
