IRON MOUNTAIN -- A five-year-old Iron Mountain boy, who's been raising money to help find a cure for his neuromuscular disease, is close to his goal of $5,000.

Austin Angeloff was diagnosed with mito-chondrial disease.  Mitochondria are responsible for creating more than 90 percent of the energy needed by the body to sustain life and support growth.  When they fail, less energy is generated within the cell. Cell injury and even cell death follow.

Austin says Saturday will be his last day fundraising at the Midtown Mall in Iron Mountain.

"My mom had to make more.  She has to make more and more and more since lots of people are getting these," said Austin.

Austin has sold over 2,000 ribbons and raised over $4,000 so far, just a $1,000 short of their goal.
