CALUMET -- Five daycares in Calumet, made up of 17 kids, are donating non-perishable food items to the Angel Mission.

The Angel Mission is a free store that aims to help people in need throughout the Calumet area.  Students dropped off multiple bags of food for the mission.  Organizers say last year they helped feed 137 people, and this year the need is even greater.

"We've noticed in the last three months, we've probably doubled the amount of food...I don't know the reason.  I don't know if there's cuts or back to school, but I have noticed the need has grown," said Angel Mission Director, Terry Bazin.

After the kids donated the food, as a thank you from the mission, they were given a free goody bag.

The Angel Mission is giving a pizza party to the daycare donating the most food.
