MARQUETTE -- The Ishpeming Hematites football team stopped by the U.P. Children's Museum in Marquette for its final Second Thursday Creative Series this year. Thursday was all about Santa. Kids made crafts and a list for the man of the hour, Santa Claus. The NMU a cappella group was also there singing Christmas songs.

"We're really excited because the theme for tonight is all about Santa, and Santa, of course, is all about giving. But then what group just gave us the most incredible gift? The Ishpeming Hematites gave us the gift of pride, and we are so excited!" said Nheena Weyer Ittner, Director for the UPCM.

The Hematites stayed to sign autographs for the children. The museum recently received a $17,000 grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. That grant money goes to help with the basic costs of running the museum.
