MARQUETTE -- The work of Northern Michigan University senior art students is on display at the DeVos Art Museum in Marquette.

The art show is called American Goulash, and it features the work of 29 graduating art students. The students used a wide array of mediums including sculpture, photography and illustration.

The museum directors said this is an important step for these students.

"It's really important for the students to have the chance to showcase the work that they've been doing in the school of art and design and also sort of show where they are at as an artist as they're getting ready to graduate and head out into the world," said DeVos Art Museum Director Melissa Matschuk.

American Goulash will be on display at the DeVos Art Museum on NMU's campus now through December 14.

They will also hold a closing reception featuring the artists themselves on Friday form 7 to 9 p.m.
