MARQUETTE -- Monday night the Marquette City Commission is discussing the former orphanage.

Commissioners want to apply for a grant to help fund the demolition of the old building.  Grant funding would come from 25 million dollars the state has allocated for the Blight Elimination Program.

Part of that elimination plan involves the demolition of dangerous structures.  If approved, the demolition process would start in the spring.

The Marquette City Commission will meet Monday night at 7.

Glad to see it go?
Would you be glad to see the old orphanage gone?
