MARQUETTE -- Mill Creek Assisted Living Center in Marquette celebrated a very special birthday Thursday.

The residents and employees celebrated Betty Anderson's 100th birthday.  Anderson, the center's oldest resident, is well known in her hometown of Ishpeming.  She served as the librarian there for a number of years, before retiring and working at Bell Hospital.

Anderson stays healthy by eating right and going on regular walks around the residence.  She also plays a good game of bridge.

"We all love her, we like seeing her around.  She likes to walk around and we like to see that," said Florence Anderson, a friend of Betty's.

Following Anderson's lunch at Mill Creek, she attended a private party with close friends and family in Ishpeming.
