ESCANABA -- The Delta County YMCA has partnered with Toys for Tots, and they're adding some extra incentive this holiday season to help local youth have a merry Christmas.

From now until Christmas Eve, the YMCA is waiving their new member fee.  Normally for a family, it's around $95.  In return, they're asking for people to bring a new, unwrapped toy for newborns up to teenagers to their drop box inside.

"We're just looking at a way to give back to the community; non-members and members can help.  If someone's just looking for a drop-off site, we're more than happy to be that site," said Y Membership Director, Hadele Peacock.

A staff member came up with the idea.  If you donate a toy and become a new member, you can enjoy such services at the Y like fitness, free tot watch, and the swimming pool.
