L'ANSE -- Food pantries in Baraga County have joined the TV6 Canathon in an effort to make sure they're stocked for the holidays.

At the St. Vincent de Paul in L'Anse, the shelves are stocked thanks to recent donations through the TV6 Canathon.  According to workers at the food bank, the shelves don't stay full for long.  They see about 80 families a month come through.

"The TV6 Canathon actually helps us throughout the winter months when we're really desperate there because January and February can be very lean and so this helps carry us over," said Deacon John Cadeau of the L'Anse St. Vincent de Paul.

More drop off sites are set up at the Baraga Schools, Larry's Market and the L'Anse Area Schools.
