MANISTIQUE -- A large pole barn went up in flames in Manistique Township Thursday afternoon.  Manistique Public Safety and volunteer firefighters were called to the property of Ronald and Michelle Goudreau at 5560W River Road.

The pole barn was engulfed in flames.  It was being used as a garage and contained a vehicle, snowmobiles, a boat and numerous other belongings.  The bulk of the building and contents are considered to be a total loss.

There were no injuries.  Officials suspect the cause to be electrical, but it remains under investigation.
