MARQUETTE COUNTY -- The Marquette County Health Department is dispelling rumors that they will no longer be providing vaccinations.

Officials said confusion has come up because of rumors about the Affordable Care Act.  Some have said the county health departments will stop providing vaccinations, and the MCHD said that this is not true.

"The rumors are simply not true. The health department has a long legacy since 1965 of providing immunizations for both children and adults, and we're always here, ready and available, should you choose to come see us," said Fred Benzie of the MCHD.

The county health department says to consult your physician and shot records to make sure you're up-to-date. Vaccinations for a wide range of ailments are available at the health department, including hepatitis, pneumonia and seasonal flu shots.
