MARQUETTE -- After hearing that the Harbor House women's shelter in Marquette was in need of financial help, Knots and Kisses decided to throw them a fundraiser with flair. The event featured music, food and a silent auction. All of the money raised Friday went to the Harbor House. The Harbor House works to provide assistance to women who are victims of domestic abuse.

"I haven't heard of a masquerade ball in Marquette in quite some time, if ever, so we thought we'd do something different," said Event Planner Nicole Corne. "There's always a lot of fun golf outings and fashion shows and a lot of stuff going on, but we wanted to really set this apart and drag a lot of people in, make sure they spend a lot of money and help out a really good cause."

Donations were taken at the door in addition to the silent auction. For more information on the Harbor House, click here.
