FELCH -- Many schools are upgrading to SMART classrooms with technology, including North Dickinson Schools in Felch.

After the first "SMART Board" was installed a few years ago, other teachers loved its capabilities so much, they pushed for more. Teachers say that the interactive technology creates more interest among students in the classroom.

"The students are very excited.  If you ask them their favorite part about learning, especially the younger kids are goint to say the SMART boards," said North Dickinson Superintendent and Principal, Angel Inglese.

Currently all but one elementary class has a SMART Board, and several middle and high school classes have it as well.

Teachers say the support from the community helped their technology improvements.  North Dickinson's 18 mill school operation millage was renewed by voters in Tuesday's election.
