NEGAUNEE -- Marquette County veterans got their fill of need-to-know information on Monday afternoon.

The Negaunee Senior Citizens Center hosted its first-ever Senior Veteran Expo. More than 17 veteran service providers from all over the Upper Peninsula came to the center to inform more than 60 veterans about agencies and services that they may not know about.

Each service provider had their own booth that was full of information about how they can help veterans.

"Whether they served at a time of peace or in a conflict, they've served and they're active, or while they were active in the military, they've earned a lot of benefits and resources and they need to use those," said Lindsay Juricek of the Negaunee Senior Center. "So, to make sure they are all knowledgeable to what is available to them if and when they need it."

Senior center officials said that they received great responses and  plan to put on the expo again next year.
