HOUGHTON -- Board members announced Pat Rozich as the new executive director for the Baraga-Houghton-Keweenaw (BHK) Child Development.

Rozich was the former superintendent of the Adams Township Schools.

On Thursday a board meeting was held with the announcement of a $1.2 million dollar deficit within the non-profit organization.

BHK also says Bill Polkinghorne was named associate executive director. Polkinghorne’s position is temporary and BHK says he will assist with the administration functions and budget cuts.

According to BHK, the board also authorized $661,000 of budget reductions pending BKH Parent Council approval and the Parent Council will meet next week to review the recommended cuts.
