MARQUETTE -- A Gwinn man is going to jail after violating his probation.
Aaron Armatti, 39, was on trial in Marquette County Circuit Court in May on charges of operating a meth lab after his house exploded last year.
Before the trial ended, Armatti pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of using a controlled substance. He was sentenced to 24 months of probation and 300 days in jail that he wouldn't have to serve if his probation was successful.
Armatti failed to appear at a probation hearing last month, so a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was discharged unsatisfactorily from an out-patient drug treatment center in Green Bay.
Armatti could also be facing charges in Delta County after he ran his car into a ditch and was found with Benzodiazepine.
"The manner of which he was operating the vehicle causes great concern to this court as it relates to the public interest," said Judge Thomas Solka. "And you continue, I think, by reason of your drug problem, to attempt to manipulate, not only your treatment, but this court."
After Thursday morning's hearing, Armatti was sent to the Marquette County Jail to serve his 300 day sentence, with credit for time already served.
